I purchased this for my 9 year old daughter to use as a practice book. She loves writing music and this book allows her to practice at home in the privacy of her room. The book is large and well made, with plenty of room for the music staff, with room for notes, and space for the lyrics, if desired. It's compact enough to fit on a music stand or lying flat on a desk, and sturdy enough that it should last through many years of practice. She likes that she can easily write on the lines (with a pen or pencil). The pages are smooth, and the front and back cover are both lined, making this a very useful book for taking notes in class.
